I'm a college student and the ability for me to increase the functionality and mobility of my laptop from morning until night without the need to haul around an charger cord is crucial. This battery does just the trick. This extended HP battery combined with the original one that comes with the laptop gives me a combined laptop usage between 8-10 hours depending on what I'm using the laptop for. Usinglife with the extended one and the original combined, or a good 6 hours with just the extended battery. moderate to minimal LCD light setting and headphones instead of speaker, I can milk a cool 10 hours of battery life. If you're someone who needs your laptop to work for long hours and you hate the thought of carrying around a damn cord with you all the time, get this battery. The $100 is an economical and smart investment to maximize the full usage and potential of your far more costly laptop, without which you minimize its functionality and mobility -- so the question is, why not?
PROS:
-Ability to charge the battery directly
-Ability to check battery life without turning on computer via its side indicator
-Provides a good battery life
CONS:
-Bulky (adds a cool 1b)
-Does not have non-memory loss capability.

This was by far the best 12-cell Extended Life Battery for the money. I love how you can plug the battery directly in to the power cord, and how it shows through lights how much life the battery has left. Another great feature is how the battery is oversized. It elevates my laptop, allowing the fans to cool it down faster, and it has great rubber grips on the bottom to prevent sliding. This is a must buy item if you are looking for a 12-cell. It only took 3 days to get here on standard shipping, which was the fastest I have ever experienced.

This has made me a ton more productive. I get about 3.5 hours of battery life with intense usage.
This blows away the <1 hour battery life that you get from the included battery (Compaq CQ60-418DX).
I'm amazed at what a difference it makes. Now I can easily go to the couch or a coffee shop or a meeting and not have to lug my charger with me. That's made life a lot easier and made me more productive.
The interesting thing is that because the battery is large and protrudes out the bottom, it puts the laptop at a better angle for typing and makes it less likely to overheat on a rug or something(because the fan isn't blocked). Kind of neat, since my first thought would be that it was annoying.
It is kind of heavy, but that doesn't bother me at all.
