This is a beautiful book, lots of pop ups and intricate detail. however it is not for your little one to read alone, not unless you want your pop ups destroyed. Great visual aids for children if you are reading to them, pricey but a worthwhile investment. If you want a book for your child to read I suggest the board book version of this one.

The little boy who received this book loved it so much. It took a couple of weeks for it to arrive from the time I ordered it, but the child didn't know any better. he was happy. I am too. The seller was gracious-bookseller72135-and e-mailed me about the shipping time right after I ordered. All in all happy people every where.

This is a perennial staple in the children's books collection I've amassed over the years.
When my son started showing interest in being read-to, I pulled out my trusty old, paperback version of this book.
BIG NO NO with a teething baby.
Our local children's librarian said that it's a great idea to allow babies to explore 'reading' with all senses, including mouth.
As my little guy liked the imagery enough to eat, I opted for the board version of this book and am VERY pleased with it...so is my baby's hungry little mouth :)
 Great Book - long wait July 9, 2010

I ordered this book as a baby shower gift. I ordered it exactly 10 business days prior to the shower. My book came in 1.5 weeks later. I had to buy a different book at Borders for the shower. This book is great, however - just not getting it almost a month after it is ordered.
 Pop-up caution June 17, 2010

I love this book. I remember it from my childhood and want it for my child. I ordered the pop-up edition and found the pop-up components were already damaged upon delivery. I think some of the pop-ups in this version would not last long with children handling it. I have returned the product and will look for the sturdy board book version with holes.
